Social Enterprise MSP Program and Partnership Director

Part-time or Contract Role depending on candidate applications

The Social Enterprise MSP (SEMSP) is a leading organization in the region for social enterprises, service providers, nonprofit organizations, corporations, and communities actively building the field of social enterprise through networking opportunities, educational forums, strategic partnerships, and impact legislation. 

Responsibilities

As the leader of network engagement, the Program and Partnership Director plays a critical role in SE-MSP’s mission. This role is responsible for driving impact via meaningful engagement across our Social Enterprise (SE) network, including ongoing cultivation and support of partnerships and making connections between partners and entrepreneurs throughout the ecosystem. This includes leadership of key programs and events, including the Impact Ecosystem Collective (IEC); supporting the design and launch of SE-MSP’s “community investor” offering – a shared impact measurement service; and building an updated network engagement strategy.

Scope of Work:

Network Leadership:

  • Designing and launching a Network Council to leverage expertise and leadership across the social enterprise ecosystem

  • Managing the outreach and communications in the community to build our network

  • Relationship building with partners and sponsors

Community Engagement and Partnerships:

  • In collaboration with the SE-MSP Board developing and organizing bi-monthly forums, including strategy sessions for the Impact Ecosystem Collective and community connection events

  • Cultivating opportunities for community engagement

  • Building, Developing and maintaining sustainable partnerships

Program/Project Management:

  • Managing the Impacct Ecosystem Collective Program scope, budget, timeline

  • Engaging with SOPACT, a impact reporting community platform, and managing the overall implementation of the onboarding of initial SEs onto the platform

  • Engaging new SEs in the IEC Program and supporting the inclusion of their projects

  • As needed, onboarding and managing contractors and interns

Overview:

  • 25 to 30 hours a week

  • Hybrid role

  • Mostly virtual however some in-person meetings at 2288 University Ave in St. Paul

  • Desk available at 2288 University Ave

The position is paid at $30-36/hr averaging 20 -30 hrs a week depending on previous experience and whether it will be positioned as a contractor or part time role. Pay and hours are negotiable for higher experienced marketing consultants or freelancers.

Marketing and Community Engagement Lead

Paid Graduate Assistant / Internship / Contract Role

Hours: 8-10 hours per week
Location: St. Paul, MN, remote
Start Date: April 15 – July 1, 2023, with opportunity to extend

The Social Enterprise MSP (SEMSP) is a leading organization in the region for social enterprises, service providers, nonprofit organizations, corporations, and communities actively building the field of social enterprise through networking opportunities, educational forums, strategic partnerships, and impact legislation. 

The Social Enterprise MSP is looking for a dynamic lead, who is excited about our mission of using business as a tool for good, as well as moving the Twin Cities toward a more purpose-driven economy. The Marketing and Programming Lead will work with SEMSP staff and board members on overall strategic goals as well as day-to-day activities that advance the mission including marketing, communications, campaigns and events. The Marketing and Community Engagement Lead will learn about the social enterprise ecosystem in the Twin Cities, develop a strong network and work on dynamic projects for the organization.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities :

  • Support planning and executing marketing celebrating and convening local social enterprises during Impact Showcase Event in June

  • Lead on the expansion of the Social Enterprise Directory, working with local social enterprise partners and recruiting mission-driven businesses 

  • Execute on marketing strategy for the organization including supporting content development, interviews, and social media.

  • Assist in the creation and rollout of all new marketing materials and event planning around Impact Showcase.

  • Support internal communication tactics and working with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of objectives. 

  • Provide outreach to social enterprise community and drive storytelling initiatives.

  • Collaborate with SEMSP staff on building/expanding a directory guide for the social enterprise ecosystem in the Twin Cities.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A major or focus area in marketing/communications, writing, nonprofit leadership, entrepreneurship, or a related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience with creative problem-solving

  • “Can do” attitude, takes initiative, a desire to learn and ability to be flexible with a willingness to explore possibilities

  • Fluency with Google Apps (or Microsoft Office comparable) suite of tools/applications

  • Familiarity with graphic design or canva is a plus

  • Previous project management and event planning experience is a plus

  • Prior experience in marketing, social media, and events is a plus

     

** Role will remain remote until further notice and future determination **

Term:  position is to be filled by April 15 and will continue through July, 2023. Possibility for extension and job placement. 

The position is paid at $16-18/hr averaging 8 -10 hrs a week depending on previous experience and whether it will be positioned as an internship or lead. Pay and hours are negotiable for higher experienced marketing consultants or freelancers.
